Last week two truck loads pulled away from Illinois Energy Windows and Siding with new windows and doors valued close to $50,000. Instead of carrying products for a new home installation, drivers Randy Hamann and Mark Runyon were transported donations for the Habitat For Humanity ReStore in Aurora, IL.
Naperville resident and owner of Illinois Energy Windows and Siding, David Sonner, along with his partner Brian Campbell, made these donations to help local homeowners replace windows on their homes. They are also helping to raise funds to build new homes for other families in need.
“We’d like to thank Illinois Energy Windows & Siding for their kindness and benevolence. This nice donation will help us build homes in Aurora for deserving families,” says Randy Hamann, manager of the Aurora Restore.

ReStore sells donated new and gently used building materials, furniture and home items to raise funds for Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity. Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity keeps 95 percent of it’s home building budget to fund local housing needs. The Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity has been serving this community for over 20 years and has built 45 homes in the Aurora and Montgomery area through individual and corporate donations.
“Illinois Energy Windows and Siding is excited to support ReStore and Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity,” said Sonner. “We are pleased to donate our surplus inventory of new, high quality, energy efficient Worthington Windows and Custom Shield Elite Wood Windows.” In these two trucks, they have included double hung windows, sliders, a bay window, entry doors and even sliding glass doors to help out the community. These are all beautiful products designed to increase the energy efficiency of homes and will fit nicely into the ReStore model of selling new and used donated building materials. Not only does it raise money, it provides an outlet to reuse and redistribute building materials. Ultimately, reducing waste and being more energy efficient helps us conserve our valuable natural resources, and lower our energy costs.
