Nyberg & Cassioppi Introduces Deena Giordano Ullom - New Partner to Focus on Employment Law and Corporate Health Matters

With businesses troubled by rising healthcare costs, and complex employment regulations, Naperville-based Nyberg & Cassioppi has announced the addition of Deena Giordano Ullom to their firm. With more than 10 years of experience as a General Counsel, litigator, and Director of Human Resources, Ms. Ullom will be an excellent addition to the firm’s legal team.

“We are delighted to have Ms. Ullom join our practice. We will benefit immensely from her General Counsel experience and proven ability to address a broad spectrum of business issues,” said Ron Nyberg. Gerry Cassioppi added that “her unique experience in successfully helping companies with employment matters and better management and reduction of their healthcare costs is very important for our clients in today’s business environment.”

Ms. Ullom worked as a litigator until 2004 when she was hired as General Counsel for Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow (ECOT), the first and largest K-12 virtual school in the country where she became an expert in this emerging area of law. Undertaking most of the legal work for ECOT, she saved the organization hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Given her success with business and legal issues, Ms. Ullom became part of the Executive Team and Director of Human Resources. She continued to improve her company’s bottom line by implementing creative and cost-containment strategies in order to improve employee health and maintain benefits.
