In 2011 the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners and the Naperville City Council approved the voluntary enrollment of the Sportsman’s Park facility in the IEPA SRP. Although the facility is operated by the Park District, the property is City-owned.

Objectives of participating in the Site Remediation Program are to obtain a No Further Remediation (NFR) determination from the IEPA SRP for the entire park and the continued use of the site for the Sportsman's Club and other Park District activities.
