Recommendations Considered for Metra Bus Depot

On Saturday, March 3, 2012, the Transportation Advisory Board considered the staff recommendations for the Naperville Metra Station Bus Depot and Commuter Access Feasibility Study. The staff recommendation for a bus depot on the Parkview Lot (located at the northeast corner of Washington Street/North Avenue) was not approved by the Transportation Advisory Board. A summary of the recommendations supported by the Transportation Advisory Board is provided below:   

• Recommend approval of conversion of North Avenue (currently one-way westbound only) to a two-way street between Washington Street and Ellsworth Street (Long-Term Recommendation).
• Recommend approval of modifications to the Eastern Burlington Lot.
• Recommend approval of the short-term recommendation for the south side of the train tracks, excluding conversion of North Avenue to two-way traffic between Washington Street and Ellsworth Street.

The Naperville Metra Station Bus Depot and Commuter Access Feasibility Study, including the Transportation Advisory Board recommendations, staff recommendations and a copy of all public correspondence received throughout the planning process, will go before the City Council for consideration in April (anticipated). More information on the City Council meeting will be provided as it becomes available.
