
If you have holiday lights that are no longer working, you have a place to take them where they will be recycled.
Beginning Nov. 21, Naperville residents can bring their used holiday lights to the Department of Public Works Recycling Drop-Off Center, located at 180 Fort Hill Drive. Residents may discard lights that no longer work at the drop-off center during its normal hours of operation on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This program is provided free of charge to the by Elgin Recycling.
Between November 30, 2010 and March 31, 2011, residents dropped off approximately 3,300 pounds of used and unwanted holiday lights at the Recycling Drop-Off Center.
Accepted lights include:
- mini-lights (Italian lights)
- C7
- C9
- rope
- LED
- extension cords
All colors and lengths will be accepted through March 30, 2012.
