Thomas Campaign Launches Listening Tour For Residents in Illinois’ New 11th Congressional District
Juan Thomas, Democratic Candidate for Illinois’ new 11thCongressional District will host the first in a series of Listening Tour sessions, next week, to talk to voters about community priorities and issues that concern them.
The kick-off session will be in Aurora, Tuesday, January 31st, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Aurora Police Department located at 1200 E. Indian Trail Road.
“Our campaign is rooted in serving the people,” said Thomas. “Too many in Washington, DC have become distracted by partisan politics and special interests and they’ve forgotten the people who elected them. I’m running for Congress to make sure the voice of the people is heard,” Thomas said.

Thomas, former Aurora Township Clerk, is running in the Democratic Primary, March 20th. The redistricted area that Thomas seeks to represent is anchored by Aurora in the northwest, Joliet in the southeast and includes Naperville, Bolingbrook, Plainfield, and surrounding communities in between.
“I want the people of the 11th CD to know that if Juan Thomas is their Congressman, I will have an open door policy and will always be available to listen to their concerns,” said Thomas.

Over the next several weeks the Thomas Campaign will host Listening Tour sessions in Plainfield, Joliet, Bolingbrook, and Naperville. The full schedule of events can be found on www.juanthomas.com, as details become available. Seniors, students, under/unemployed, veterans, and other residents are encouraged to come to a Listening Tour session to share their stories and discuss ideas on policy solutions.
For nearly 15 years, Thomas has served the community as a lawyer, small business owner, school board member, and youth minister. In 2005, Thomas became the first Democrat to win the office of Aurora Township Clerk. He was re-elected Aurora Township Clerk in 2009 with 57% of the vote, receiving more votes than any other candidate seeking a township-wide office that year. Thomas was born, raised, and educated in Aurora, the largest city in the new 11th Congressional District and the second largest city in Illinois.
