Another Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Naperville: Police

Police say the 39-year-old driver was killed when the motorcycle struck a fence.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A 39-year-old Naperville man was killed when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle struck a fence Wednesday night, police said.

Officers responded to the cash just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of North Naper Boulevard and Plank Road to find a 2016 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob on the east side of the road, lying on its side with heavy damage. The operator of the motorcycle was unresponsive, police said.

The driver received emergency medical care at the scene from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District and was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation showed the driver of the Harley-Davidson was traveling north on Naper Boulevard toward Plank Road when the motorcycle left the road before striking a fence.

Crash investigators from the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene to investigate, and Naper Boulevard was closed in both directions from Plank Road to Meadow Lake Drive until approximately 2:15 a.m. Thursday, police said.

The crash comes just days after a 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed after police believe his motorcycle went off the road and struck a retaining wall on Washington Street.
