Attic Fire Causes $75K In Damage To Naperville Home

NAPERVILLE, IL — An attic fire caused $75,000 in damage to a home in Naperville early Friday.

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of South Columbia Street just after 3:20 a.m. for a report of a "possible fire" in the single-family home's attic. When they got to the scene, fire crews did not see immediate evidence of a fire, but reported that they smelled something burning.

The entered the home and located the fire in the house's attic. The fire was contained within 15 minutes, a news release said.

No one was hurt in the fire, which displaced three residents, as the house was deemed to be uninhabitable.
