BD's Mongolian Grill Shutters Naperville Store As Rent Rises: Report
After nearly 30 years, the BD's Mongolian Grill at 221 Washington St. closed its doors for good Tuesday night, according to NCTV17.

NAPERVILLE, IL — After more than 30 years downtown, the Naperville BD's Mongolian Grill served its last customers Tuesday night, according to NCTV17.
The eatery, where customers could customize their own stir-fry bowls, opened in 1996 at 221 Washington St. location.
On Tuesday, General Manager Kirsten Simmons shared news of the closure on the Facebook group "What's Happening in Naperville."

Simmons wrote that the need to close the location was "an unfortunate situation but something that is out of our control." Per NCTV17, the CEO of BD's Mongolian Grill cited theincreasing cost of leasing the Washington Street property as the reason for closing.
After Simmons made the Facebook announcement, fans of the restaurant left hundreds of comments.

One diner, Daniela A., wrote that BD's Mongolian Grill was "literally [their] deciding factor" in their decision to attend North Central College.
Another resident named Jackie F. wrote, "I had my first child at Edward Hospital in 1997. My husband took my mother and mother-in-law there for dinner to celebrate his birth and brought me back some food to go! It was so good, and we have been going for the past almost 27 years. Sorry to see you guys go!"
The Bolingbrook BD's Mongolian Grill will remain open and will accept outstanding discount offers, Simmons said in her Facebook post.
