Body of Elderly Woman Found in Aurora After Bitterly Cold Day

On Monday evening, a 74-year-old Aurora woman was reported missing to police by a concerned family member. The family member was unable to contact the elderly woman. Upon reaching the woman's apartment there were indications that she had gone to the area near Edgelawn Drive and Jericho Road. Police and family members searched that area, but found nothing.

The next day, police and volunteers conducted a more extensive search and a body was found in a semi-wooded area. The body matched the description of the missing woman, but confirmation of her identity will not be released until after the autopsy.

According to Weather Underground, the low temperature was -14 °F in Aurora on the day the woman was reported missing.
