Border Protection Officer Accused Of Sexually Assaulting, Robbing 'Multiple Women:' Feds

NAPERVILLE, IL — A U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer was indicted on 11 federal charges after officials allege that he sexually assaulted and robbed "multiple women" in Naperville, Schaumburg and other suburbs, a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Illinois said.
Luis Uribe, 44, of Pingree Grove faces 10 counts of deprivation of civil rights under color of law and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. He was taken into custody Tuesday morning.
Uribe had been working as a border patrol officer in the Chicago area when the sexual assaults and robberies took place, according to the news release. He showed a gun during one of the assaults, the indictment alleges.

Federal officials say the sexual assaults and robberies took place in Naperville and Schaumburg in February 2022. Uribe is also accused of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault and robbery of two more women in October 2022 in Schaumburg.
The indictment alleges that he placed his victims "in fear that (they) would be subjected to death or serious bodily injury ."

Uribe is set to appear in court Dec. 15 for a detention hearing. If he is convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
