Car Fire Damages Townhome In Naperville

A fire broke out in a car outside of a townhome on Scots Drive early Tuesday.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A car fire spread to a townhome in Naperville Tuesday morning, leaving one unit of the building uninhabitable.

Firefighters got a call just after 12:45 a.m. reporting a car had caught fire in the 500 block of Scots Drive. When they got to the scene, fire crews found a vehicle in flames that were extending to the nearby townhome.

All residents had gotten out safely.

The fire was contained by 1:11 a.m., a news release said. It's estimated the total cost of damage is $110,000.
