NAPERVILLE, IL — DuPage County Coroner Judith Lukas says the coroner's office is "diligently working" with the help of "other agencies" to identify the body that was found near a trailhead at Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve on Aug. 14. Police believe the body to be that of Olasinmibo "Sinmi" Abosede, a 46-year-old Naperville mother of four who was last seen July 30.

An autopsy was conducted on Aug. 15. In an email Friday, Lukas wrote that the decedent's cause of death remains undetermined amid pending lab results.

Abosede was last seen on camera footage walking in the 2100 block of Sudbury Street on the morning of July 30. Following her disappearance, a large-scale search of Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve was conducted, with negative results.

The body was located through an area dense with tall grass around 2 p.m. on Aug. 14. Police say the decedent was wearing clothes that matched those Abosede was wearing when she was last seen.

"While we believe the individual to be Sinmi, the final confirmation will be made by the DuPage County Coroner’s Office," Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement Aug. 14.

Thank you to everyone in our community who assisted with this investigation and for your care and concern. We ask that everyone keep the family in your thoughts and respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Naperville police and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County say that there does not appear to have been any signs of foul play.
