2 Seriously Hurt In Crash On 95th Street In Naperville

Police say the crash, which took place Wednesday afternoon, will close part of 95th Street for "several hours."

NAPERVILLE, IL — Two people were seriously hurt in a two-crash on 95th Street in Naperville Wednesday afternoon.

Police said their initial investigation showed that a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica was heading south on Plainfield/Naperville Road and into the intersection of 95th Street as a 2007 Dodge Caravan was heading north on Plainfield/Naperville Road. The Dodge Caravan was attempting to turn left onto westbound 95th Street when the vehicles collided.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan was taken to a local hospital with apparent minor injuries, and a passenger in the Dodge was also transported with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 630-420-8833.

As of 12:30 p.m., the crash had closed part of eastbound 95th Street. The road was closed between Plainfield-Naperville Road and Gateshead Drive.

One lane on Plainfield-Naperville Road was also closed to southbound traffic en route to 95th Street.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes in the wake of the crash, which Naperville Police Commander Ricky Krakow said would impact traffic for “several hours.”

Portions of Plainfield/Naperville Road and 95th Street were closed until approximately 3:30 p.m. due to the investigation.
