Daycare Center Seeks Approval To Open On 75th Street In Naperville
The city's Planning and Zoning Commission will weigh a proposal from Primrose School to build a new daycare center.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville's Planning and Zoning Commission is set to consider a proposal to build a new daycare center at 471 E. 75th St. Petitioners Primrose Schools will present their application for a public hearing on Jan. 15.
The petitioners are requesting a zoning ordinance variance that would permit 44 parking spaces at the proposed development. As written, the applicable zoning code requires 54 parking spaces.
According to the petition, the outdoor space required for the daycare's fenced playground areas would limit the project's space for off-street parking.

A landscape variance is also being sought to relieve the petitioners of meeting a requirement to build a six-foot tall fence on the east side of the property, according to city documents.
The design for Primrose Daycare includes a 13,596 square foot child care center with six playground spaces that include a playground for infants, two playgrounds for early preschoolers, two playgrounds for preschoolers and an open playground.

In a public comment submitted to the planning commission, one neighboring resident on Oxford Lane brought up concerns that a smaller parking lot would lead to parents parking along Oxford Lane to wait to pick up their children. They and another nearby resident also brought up concerns about traffic and pedestrian safety.
Primrose Schools has several centers throughout Illinois, including in Carol Stream, Naperville and Plainfield.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meeting will be held Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
