Driver Hurt, Dog Killed After Car Hits Tree In Naperville: Cops

Police say the single-car crash took place early Saturday.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Lisle woman, 20, was seriously hurt, and a dog died after a car hit a tree in Naperville early Saturday, police say.

Police were called to the intersection of Culpepper Drive and S. Naper Boulevard just after 3:45 a.m. for a report that a 2021 Kia Forte had veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The driver, who was trapped in the car, was removed and taken to a nearby hospital with "significant injuries," police say.

Early Monday, Commander Ricky Krakow told Patch he did not have an update on the driver's condition.

A dog that was in the car was taken to an emergency vet nearby, but died at the hospital.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the NPD traffic unit at 630-420-8833.
