DuPage Symphony Orchestra selected for prestigious National Endowment for the Arts "Big Read" grant
DuPage County's premier community orchestra is one of only six Illinois arts organizations chosen for the award

The DuPage Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is proud to announce a major artistic milestone: its March 2026 concert will be transformed into Mariachi Mosaic, featuring the internationally acclaimed Mariachi Acero de Las Vegas in their first-ever performance inside Wentz Concert Hall in Naperville, IL.
This vibrant collaboration coincides with another honor for the orchestra: the DSO has been selected as a recipient of the "Big Read" grant, awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts. The DSO is deeply honored to be one of only six Illinois-based arts organizations chosen for this highly competitive national program.
Centered on Sandra Cisneros’ celebrated novel The House on Mango Street, and presented in partnership with the Wheaton Public Library, the DSO’s Big Read programming will bring literature and music together in a month-long celebration of community and culture. Events include a public kickoff, book discussions, creative writing workshops, a field trip for school-aged children, and culminate with the Mariachi Mosaic concert on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
