Funeral Planned For Naperville Teen Killed In Avalanche In Switzerland
Funeral services will be held for Aleksas Beiga, the Naperville Central freshman who was killed in an avalanche while visiting Switzerland.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Funeral arrangements have been set for Aleksas Beiga, the Naperville Central freshman who was killed in an avalanche while spending spring break in Switzerland.
A visitation will be held April 11 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Blessed Jurgis Matulaitis Lithuanian Catholic Mission Church, 14911 E 127th St., Lemont. On April 12, there will be a 10 a.m. funeral mass at the same church, with interment to follow at Lithuanian National Cemetery.
According to his obituary on Legacy.com, Beiga was born Jan. 2, 2009. He died April 1 in an avalanche, along with two other people, near a Swiss resort town.

Following Beiga's death, family friends started a GoFundMe in his memory. As of Tuesday, the fundraiser had received more than $56,000 in donations.
