NAPERVILLE, IL — Empire Restaurant Group plans to open a new restaurant in the space that was once home to Bev's. The George will offer modern American fare in a dining space with 19th-century vibes inspired by the nearby Pre-Emption House.

“We’re blending nostalgia with craftsmanship,” co-owner Dave Miller shared in a statement. “It’s familiar, but elevated — we’re serving up dishes that people love, but with exceptional attention to ingredients and execution.”

For diners, this means dishes like oversized burgers, steak frites, or The George's eponymous French dip sandwich. Beer, wine and craft cocktails will be available to complement the cuisine.

Empire Restaurant Group's mission for The George is to create a gathering place "where people can come together over great food and a beautiful setting — casual, but with polish," said restaurant co-owner Will Cullen.

To that end, there will be an outdoor dining area complete with a fire pit and a custom-built pergola with warm lighting and ceiling fans.
