NAPERVILLE, IL — A GoFundMe has been started to aid the family of Naperville resident Steven M. Weigensberg, 53, who was fatally shot by another employee at his workplace, Dana Point Condominiums, in Arlington Heights Friday.

The fundraiser is hoping to collect $40,000 in donations to "help ease immediate needs and provide stability for his children’s future - ensuring they have the care, opportunities, and security Steve worked so hard to give them," according to the description on the GoFundMe page.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, Weigensberg's death was determined a homicide after he was shot multiple times. Police say the employee, Juan Medina, 53, of Palatine, fatally shot himself after shooting Weigensberg.
