Hidden Lakes Trout Farm Hosts Kids Fishing Derby
Kids ages 5 to 15 can compete for prizes and enjoy fishing fun at a Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 28, at Hidden Lakes Trout Farm.
Young anglers can compete for prizes and enjoy a morning of outdoor fun during the annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 28, at Hidden Lakes Trout Farm in Bolingbrook.
The Forest Preserve District of Will County event runs from 7 to 11:30 a.m. and includes two sessions: 7 to 9 a.m. and 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Children ages 5 to 15 can sign up for one or both sessions. Trophies will be awarded for the largest fish in three age categories: 5-8, 9-12 and 13-15.

Each participant will receive giveaways, sweet treats and a free container of nightcrawlers. The cost is $5 per person. Registration is required and will also be available on the day of the event if space allows.
The derby is sponsored by The Nature Foundation of Will County with support from Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund.
