Holly Jolly Days Brings Reindeer Shoemaking, More To Naper Settlement

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naper Settlement's Holly Jolly Days begins Dec. 6, bringing blacksmith demonstrations, arts and crafts and other holiday activities.

This year, visitors will learn how blacksmiths make reindeer shoes. The museum's one-room schoolhouse will also host a themed story time during Holly Jolly Days.

Kids can make their own holiday craft with supplies provided by Naper Settlement. There will also be a station set up for visitors to write and mail letters to Santa Claus.

The print shop will offer holiday card printing and the log house will feature roasted chestnuts and popcorn. Select dates will feature sing-a-longs, cookie decorating and a live performance from Bach to Rock.

Holly Jolly Days will be held Dec. 6, 13, 19 and 20 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the final entry allowed at 6 p.m. On Dec. 7, 8, 14 and 15, Holly Jolly Days is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., with the last guests permitted to enter at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person for adults and children four years old and over. Children under four get in free.
