Beloved Suburban Seafood Restaurant To Close After 21 Years
The popular seafood restaurant is set to close at the end of June.
NAPERVILLE, IL — After more than 20 years serving its beloved fresh seafood and high-end cuisine to diners in Naperville, Catch 35 has announced it will close for good.
The restaurant, located at 35 S. Washington St., shared the news on its website and via social media, thanking customers for "making our dream a reality and a journey that we shall never forget."
"As Catch 35 fades into the Naperville culinary landscape of memories, we will always remember the friends we developed, the relationships we built, and especially you, our patrons, without whom our successes would not have been possible," the announcement read.

"It is always hard to say goodbye, but, as we do, we want to thank you for your steadfast loyalty and the opportunities you afforded us over the past 21 years."
In its 21 years in Naperville, Catch 35 became a favorite spot for celebratory dinners, dates and other gatherings. Known for serving up fresh seafood that is delivered daily, the restaurant has consistently been a popular choice for brunch on Mother's Day and Easter.

On OpenTable, Catch 35 has been ranked among the Best Neighborhood Gem Restaurants, Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation, Best Restaurant for Business Meals, Best Open Kitchen Restaurants and Best Seafood Restaurants in Naperville.
In the wake of Catch 35's announcement, social users commented to share their disappointment at the news and to recall memories made at the restaurant.
"Very sad to read this," Kelly R. wrote. "Many occasions and date nights spent there over the years."
Tiffany T. shared, "OMG. I’m devastated!!!! This is where I brought my out-of-town guests."
The eatery's downtown Chicago location, which opened in 1990, closed in October 2024. At the time, owner Sam Berngard attributed the 35 W. Wacker Drive location's closure, in part, to COVID's impact on local business.
Catch 35's last day is set for June 28.
