NAPERVILLE, IL — The family of Manny Rosales, 27, who drowned at Centennial Pool Thursday, has secured a lawyer amid questions over whether the lifeguard involved handled Rosales's disappearance properly, NBC 5 reports.

Edward Witas told NBC 5 the lifeguard failed to clear the pool after Rosales's friends reported him missing. Witas said the lifeguard suggested looking in the facility's bathroom or parking lot, allowing "30 minutes to pass" before Rosales's body was pulled from the pool.

Per Witas, it was Rosales's friends who called police.
