Metropolitan Family Services DuPage is now accepting applications for mentors to be trained this summer.

Submitted by Metropolitan Family Services DuPage
Summer is the time to get ready to make a difference in the life of a child during the next school year. MetroMentors, a program of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage is now accepting applications for mentors to be trained this summer and matched one-to-one with youth in the fall of 2012. Students and their mentors will meet at one of 14 partner schools for one hour a week.
In District 204, these schools are Colishaw, May Watts and Georgetown elementary.
Children need positive role models who listen to them and support their goals and needs. Our mentors will do just that while supporting the child’s academic success and demonstrating goodproblem solving skills. A one school year commitment is required. Being a friend to a child is oneof the most rewarding and enjoyable roles an adult can play.
