NAPERVILLE, IL — Eight years after Matthew Lange was shot to death in the parking lot of Scullen Middle School in Naperville, his murder remains unsolved. The Oswego father was 37 years old when he was slain on Jan. 27, 2017, marking Naperville's first unsolved murder since 2014.

Lange, who worked as a psychology professor, was waiting to pick up his four-year-old son from Polish school when he was shot multiple times through the closed windows of his Hyundai Elantra. His killer has never been found.

Lange's son had been enrolled by Lange's ex-wife in Polish classes that were held on Fridays via Helena Modjeska Polish School, which rented space at Scullen, Daily Herald reported in 2017. Lange and his ex-wife had divorced in 2015.
