NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said the police department is doing "everything we can" to find Olasinmibo “Sinmi” Abosede, who was last seen Wednesday morning. A search of Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve led by K-9s teams, drone operators and some 40 volunteers was unsuccessful Monday morning.

A police update said detectives are continuing to follow leads and search the area near the 2100 block of Sudbury Street, where Abosede, 46, was last seen. Arres reiterated that foul play is not suspected in her disappearance.

“I understand that the uncertainty surrounding Sinmi’s disappearance is concerning, and I assure you that this department is doing everything we can to find Sinmi,” Arres said. “We will continue to follow up on any leads and lean on the expertise of our partners at Naperville Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and surrounding law enforcement agencies, who I want to thank for their dedicated efforts today."

“We know there are a lot of community members who want to help, too,” Arres said. “I would ask that they continue to circulate Sinmi’s picture and keep their eyes open as they travel throughout the region. The more eyes we have looking out for her, the better.”
