Naperville Sweat Lodge Vote Postponed; Commission Needs Info: Report

The proposed spa and restaurant would be located at 1936 Springbrook Square.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville's Liquor Commission has postponed a vote on whether to allow a liquor license and late-night permit for Naperville Sweat Lodge, a spa and restaurant that is seeking to open at 1936 Springbrook Square, according to Chicago Tribune.

City documents show that the proposed establishment would comprise 11,000 square feet of space that would include a kitchen and public dining area, in addition to separate locker rooms, steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, rest areas and dining areas designated for men or women.

The proposed design also includes common hot tub and steam and sauna areas. Massage areas are also designated.

The petitioners, Chicago Bath House, LLC, seek to be open until 12 a.m. on weekends. The restaurant seeks to serve beer, wine and liquor. The requested late-night permit would allow for liquor to be sold past 11 p.m., per the Chicago Tribune.

According to the Chicago Bath House website, its "traditional style bathhouse" has been in Chicago's Wicker Park area since 1906. The 1914 W. Division St. location added a full bar and restaurant in 2011.
