NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville woman was shot in the leg by her former partner while he was staying with her Friday, according to Chicago Tribune.

Carnell Polsey, 33, was charged with aggravated battery and reckless discharge of a firearm in connection with the incident, which took place around 8:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Santa Fe Drive.

The woman told police she believed she was shot accidentally, as Polsey appeared to be intoxicated and had been lying in the home's living room with a gun.
