Naperville's new Social and Emotional Learning Curriculum to be Presented at Meeting
The program aims to improve social skills

The following was provided by Naperville Community Unit School District 203:
"Naperville Community Unit School District 203 administrators will provide an update on Naperville 203’s Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum during the next community engagement initiative Focus 203 on January 18 and 19.
In 2012, the community identified SEL as a priority for our students. As outlined in the Focus 2020 Strategic Blueprint, Naperville 203 pledges to develop and implement an effective social-emotional plan that will enable students to demonstrate the skills needed to be competent in their families, with their peers, in their school, at their work settings, and in their communities. Work began on this commitment during the 2014-15 school year. SEL curriculum will be implemented in the 2017-18 school year. At Focus 203, District administrators will discuss how SEL skills have been implemented in the classroom and how Naperville 203 is paving the way for Social Emotional Learning across the country.
