Ominous Cards Found in Chicago Suburbs are a Pro-Life Protest
The cards found in Naperville, Wheaton, South Barrington and Aurora reference "something terrible" to happen in Aurora on New Year's Eve

A Patch reader came out of the AMC Showplace Naperville 16 movie theater on Sunday evening and found strange cards on placed on at least six cars in the parking lot. One side of the card featured an hourglass with the text, "Something terrible is going to happen in Aurora on 12/31/16," and "The wise will find the truth before it is too late."
Larry Bushman, the manager of the AMC Showplace Naperville 16, said theater patrons notified his staff about the cards. He added that a patron had already contacted the police.
"We are looking into it to determine what the message means," Commander Jason Arres of the Naperville Police Department said in a phone interview on Thursday evening. Commander Arres also stated that the Aurora police department was aware of the incident.

Late Thursday evening, a page titled "It Happens 12/31/16" appeared for about three hours on Facebook. The page stated the terrible event was 30 abortions supposedly scheduled at the Aurora Planned Parenthood on New Year's Eve.
"The whole point of this was to show you your discrimination and hate towards people living in their earliest life stages," the post said. "You all will get concerned about evil when it threatens born people, but you ignore or participate in the mass-killing incidents that are regularly happening in your own city."

The nearly 600 word statement and the rest of the page disappeared around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning.
Illinois law permits abortions until a fetus can survive outside the womb, which is generally accepted to be 24 to 26 weeks into a pregnancy.
