Pat Pradel, Wife of Former Mayor, Died Saturday
Pat and George Pradel were married for 55 years and served Naperville together their entire lives.

Pat Pradel, 75, the wife of recently retired mayor George Pradel, died Saturday morning after a long illness, according to her family. Pradel, who was by his wife’s side at Edward Hospital along with their three children as she passed, served five terms as Naperville’s mayor.
One of the reasons he opted to retire was his wife’s cancer. She was first diagnosed 20 years ago. They celebrated 55 years of marriage on Aug. 20. She is survived by her husband, her sons George and Gary, and her daughter Carol.
“Pat Pradel accompanied the mayor when he attended many gala charity events, especially during the past couple of years of his fifth term,” notes Positively Naperville. “Mayor Pradel always credited his wife for understanding his commitment to the city.”
