Police Blotter: A Bloody Bench and Stolen Tires

Suspicious incident

Someone in the 800 block of North Washington Street reported that they found a small amount of blood on a cement bench on the north side of a business, said.

Theft

  • Police said someone in the 1700 block of West Ogden Avenue reported that four full-size spare tires were removed from vehicles overnight. The removal of a fifth tire was attempted, according to police.
  • A 69-year-old woman in the 100 block of North Ewing Street reported that over the last 20 years her home and another property in Naperville have been damaged, police said. The woman suspects a neighbor, but has no proof. Over the last several years, something was stolen too. 

Accident with injury

An elderly man possibly overcome due to a medical problem hit two gravestones at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in the 900 block of North Avenue. He hit the gravestones and then his vehicle was launched over a fence, police said. He was taken to Edward Hospital.
