Police Blotter: Driving Under the Influence, Smashed Mailboxes

Driving under the influence

Iliya Vladimiroich Gudel, 23, of the 2300 block of Schrader Lane, North Aurora, was arrested at 1:18 a.m. in the 500 block of S. Washington Street and W. Porter Avenue where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to yield while turning left, police said. His bond was set at $100.

Katie Jean Jarvis, 30, of the 0 block of N900 W. Mary Drive, St. Charles, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. in the 800 block of N. Washington Street and East Ogden Avenue, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver and a lights violation. Her bond was set at $100.

Rebecca June Fickenscher, 44, of the 2600 block of Saddlebrook Drive, was arrested at 11:04 p.m. at West 87th Street and S. Route 59, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to give a signal and illegal lane use. Her bond was $100.

Juan Saul Aceves, 29, of the 1600 block of N. 44th Avenue, Stone Park, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. in the 2200 block of W. Diehl Road and Fairway Drive, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver, speeding, wrong lane use, improper lane use, failing to give a signal and operating an uninsured vehicle. His bond was set at $100.

Theft

Maria Rodriguez, 35, of the 400 block of Kensington Court, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. in the where she was charged with retail theft, police said. She was caught switching prices on meat, according to police reports. Her bond was set at $120.

A 47-year-old woman in the 700 block of De LaSalle Court reported that between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday a Schwinn boys Supersport bike was taken.

Possession of controlled substance

Matthew Clifton Kanak, 17, of the 700 block of Hageman Place, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. in the 1000 block of Kennebec Lane and Iroquois Avenue, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and not wearing a seat belt, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Warrant arrest

Vivek Suthar, 20, of the 2900 block of Forest Creek Lane, was arrested at 9:48 p.m. at 103rd Street and S. Route 59, police said. He was charged on an outstanding warrant. His bail was set at $4,000.

Damaged mailbox

A 24-year-old man in the 2700 block of Cedar Glade Drive reported at 1:04 a.m. that several mailboxes were knocked down or damaged, police said.

A 45-year-old woman in the 2300 block of Skylane Drive reported that between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8:26 a.m. Thursday her mailbox was one of many damaged, police said.

A 25-year-old man in the 2100 block of Skylane Drive reported that between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 p.m. Thursday a mailbox was damaged.

Criminal damage to property

Someone reported that between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9:47 a.m. Thursday someone gained access to the school in the 1300 block of N. Mill Street and kicked in three rooftop air conditioner screens. The damage was estimated to be $500, police said.

Disorderly conduct

A 40-year-old woman reported that between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday a vandal wrote in dust on the back of her vehicle window a derogatory phrase.
