Police Blotter: Stolen MP3, Stereo and Pumpkins

Theft

  • Gregory Payne, 21, of the 2400 block of Autumn Grove Circle, Aurora, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. in the 2700 block of Fitness Drive, police said. He was charged with two counts of theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Police said a woman in the 600 block of Ticonderoga Lane reported that on Sunday someone stole a potted plant and three pumpkins from her front porch. The total value was about $35.

Warrant arrest

John M. Brasch, 22, of the 1400 block of Durness Court, was arrested at 9:20 a.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Avenue, where police said he was charged on a failure to appear warrant. Police said he turned himself in.

Driving without a license

  • Ed Alfredo Marin-Vega, 32, of the 1600 block of Rose Lane, was arrested at 7:19 p.m. at North Route 59 and North Aurora Road, police said. He was charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance and driving without insurance while his license was suspended. His bail was $3,000.
  • Andre Charles Bridges, 21, of the 1100 block of Chicory Lane, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. at South Route 59 and McCoy Drive, police said. He was charged with not wearing a seat belt and driving without a license. His bail was $1,500.

Suspended license

  • Douglas Richard Banks, 22, of the 700 block of Lehnertz Avenue, was arrested at 11:02 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Route 59 and Audrey Avenue, police said. He was charged with making an improper turn at an intersection and driving on a suspended/revoked license.
  • Denise Marie Romain, 42, of the 12000 block of Pear Tree Way, Plainfield, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. at South Route 59 and Rollingridge Road, police said. She was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license.

Vehicle burglary

  • A 28-year-old man in the 1000 block of North Mill Street reported that between 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday someone entered his vehicle and stole an MP3 player, phone charger cord and cell phone holder, police said.
  • A 22-year-old man in the 1700 block of Quincy Avenue reported that between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday someone through a rock through a side window and entered a vehicle, stealing a stereo, police said.

Criminal damage

A woman in the 2000 block of University Drive reported that between Oct. 22 and 23 someone smashed her mailbox, possibly with a bat, police said.
