Police Blotter: Stolen Pumpkin, Stolen Copper, Confused Party-Goer

Naperville Police Department reports, Oct. 14-16

Friday, Oct. 14

Warrant arrest

  • John Robert Beale, 66, of the 4700 block of St. Joseph Creek Road, Lisle, was arrested at 9:40 a.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Avenue, where he was charged with an original warrant for disorderly conduct, police said.
  • Jacob B. Soto, 20, of the 4400 block of Shabbona Lane, Lisle, was arrested at the at 2:40 p.m., police said. He was charged on an original warrant for two counts of receiving illegal goods. His bond was $300.
  • Michael C. Schwerer, 28, of the 3S600 block of Wilbur Avenue, Warrenville, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department on an original warrant for two counts of theft, police said. His bond was $500.

Driving on a suspended license

  • Saad Abbas, 21, of the 2600 block of Saddlebrook Drive, was arrested at 9:12 p.m. at Fort Hill Drive and West 75th Street, where he was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and failing to give a signal, police said. His bail was $1,500.
  • Jose R. Guzman, 53, of the 200 block of North Neltor, West Chicago, was arrested at 2:42 p.m. in the 1900 block of McDowell Road and North Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and failing to reduce speed/driving too fast for conditions.

Driving under the influence

David Yoon Row, 33, of the 1800 block of Clyde Drive, was arrested at 5:55 p.m. at McDowell Road and North Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended/revoked license.

Vehicle burglary

A 51-year-old man in the 100 block of 4th Avenue reported that someone stole his brown leather hard-shell briefcase from his unlocked cab, police said. The briefcase contained mostly personal items like photos and notebooks. 

Theft

  • Someone reported in the 2600 block of Camberley Circle that between May 1 and Oct. 14 copper piping worth about $2,500 was stolen from a home under construction, police said.
  • An 83-year-old man in the 600 block of Washington Street reported that scrap auto parts were stolen from the side of the building, police said. 
Saturday, Oct. 15

Violating bond

Morgan Katherine Rodriguez, 18, of the 9100 block of West Oaks Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested at 7:42 a.m. in the 100 block of North Sleight Street, police said. She was charged with criminal trespass to a residence and violating a bail bond. She returned to a former residence after being given a verbal no trespass order, police said. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Driving under the influence

  • Sonia Delia Lopez, 24, of the 600 block of Wintergreen Circle, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. in the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use, according to reports. Her bail was $3,000.
  • Jonathan Bryan Oakley, 23, of the 20 block of South Brain Tree, Schaumburg, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. in the 1500 block of Aurora Avenue, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. His bail was $3,000.

Possession

Eric Cage, 18, of the 100 block of Testa Drive, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. at South River Road and West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams. His bond was $120.

Disorderly conduct

Eric Michael Oyster, 19, of the 16000 block of Timberview Drive, Plainfield, was arrested at 12:48 a.m. in the 600 block of North Ellsworth Street, police said. He was charged with consumption of liquor by a minor and disorderly conduct. Police said he was a college student and trying to gain entry to a residence. When the homeowner wouldn’t open the door, he threatened bodily harm to the homeowner, according to police. He admitted later he thought he was at the location for an off-campus party, according to reports. His bond was $120.

Sunday, Oct. 16

Driving under the influence

  • Eliziah Torrance Evans, 31, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 2:03 a.m. at West Ogden Avenue and Benedetti Drive, police said. He was charged on two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal possession and transportation of liquor by a driver and speeding over the limit. His bail was $3,000.
  • Jay Allen Keller, 50, of the 2700 block of Wendy Drive, was arrested at 2:56 a.m. in the 3200 block of South Route 59, where police said he was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to give a signal, driving in the wrong lane and failing to give right of way to an emergency vehicle. His bail was $3,000.
  • Jessica Susan Spires, 21, of the 1100 block of Tantau Court, Lebanon, IL, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. at South Washington Street and Osler Drive, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and speeding. Her bail was $3,000.

Warrant arrest

Constance Jean Hurley, 51, of the 500 block of Wakefield Court, was arrested at 9:36 p.m. at her home, police said. She was charged on a failure to appear warrant for retail theft from DuPage County. Her bail was $1,000. 

Driving without a license

Rogelio DeSantiago, 24, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 12:39 a.m. at North Aurora Road and Eola Road, Aurora, where he was charged with driving without a license and improper lane use. His bond was $150. 

Criminal trespass

Paul Martin Litwitz, 54, of the 100 block of Ketten Drive, was arrested at 12:13 p.m. in the 600 block of East Ogden Avenue, where police said he was charged with criminal trespass to land. He was spotted on the property of a car wash where he was told on Aug. 29 that he was not allowed. His bond was $120.

Criminal damage

James Michael Gilsdorf, 20, of the 100 block of Sycamore Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 12:59 a.m. at his home where he was charged with criminal damage to property, police said. Gilsdorf and a minor were arrested in connection with damaging mailboxes. His bond was $120.

Theft

A 71-year-old man in the 1600 block of Ada Lane reported that someone stole a pumpkin off his front steps, police said.
