Police To Boost Patrols on Cinco de Mayo
The Naperville Police Department will be on the lookout for drunk drivers during the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday.

The Naperville Police Department will be on the lookout for drunk drivers during the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday.
The police department along with the Illinois Department Division of Traffic Safety will conduct a nighttime Cinco de Mayo enforcement campaign now through May 5, police said.
The patrols will involve extra officers concentrated in certain areas, with a focus on finding those driving under the influence.

"Enforcement efforts will be stepped up by deploying more officers onto the streets of the city," Naperville Sgt. Sgt. Al Trotsky said in a release. "Our goal is to make sure impaired drivers are off the road and motorists are buckled up."
Police provided the following tips for drivers:

- Have a sober, designated driver set up before leaving home, and give him or her, the car keys.
- Do not let friends or relatives drive impaired; call a taxi, a sober friend or a relative.
- If you come across a driver that appears to be impaired promptly call law enforcement.
- Always wear your seat belt and make sure that everyone in your vehicle is also buckled up.
