Power Restored After Storm Brings High Winds, Outages

City crews have completely restored power to customers after an early morning severe storm caused outages due to downed tree limbs throughout the area on Tuesday.

After a quick drive through Naperville Tuesday, residents may have noticed downed tree limbs, scattered debris and even a few power outages due to an early morning storm. 

Naperville experienced some minor storm damage from the severe weather and several hundred customers lost electricity. But by 12:50 p.m. the Department of Public Utilities had fully restored power to all residents, city officials said. 

City crews received approximately 250 calls from residents regarding power outages along with calls for branches and trees down due to the storm, according to the

A special brush collection is not needed, but city crews are cleaning up parkway tree limbs and branches. Any residents with storm damage to parkway trees are encouraged to contact Department of Public Works at 630-420-6095. 

Residents with downed branches or tree limbs from private property trees are responsible for removing the brush, according to the city of Naperville.
