Santa Train Set to Roll Dec. 3

The Naperville Jaycees are seeking additional sponsors for the annual holiday event.

A Naperville tradition, the Santa Train, is set to roll down the tracks Dec. 3 and tickets are on sale now.

The Naperville Jaycees bring the Santa Train alive with fun for kids and families and this year the organization was racing to get everything in place. Negotiations with Metra took longer than anticipated leaving the organization with a short planning and ticket sale window.

The one-hour train rides will leave from the at 10 a.m. and noon on Dec. 3. The Santa Train will travel to Brookfield, switch tracks and return to the Naperville station. During the trip children will have time to meet and talk with Santa, sing songs and play games along the way, according to the Jodi Bernicky, the Naperville Jaycees public relations chair. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera to take pictures.

Everyone who attends must have a ticket for insurance reasons, and tickets are $15 per person and $5 for children under 12 months of age. Tickets are numbered by train car, so families or groups may want to coordinate ahead of time to ensure being in the same car, Bernicky said in the news release.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.tix4cause.org/charities/naperville-jaycees or at the loading point on the day of the event.

Because of the significant increase in the cost the Jaycees incurred for the event this year, due to increased fuel costs and other transportation-related expenses the organization is seeking additional sponsorships from members of the community, whether individuals or companies. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event is asked to contact the Jaycees at jcinfo@naperjaycees.org or call 630-961-9375.
