Semi-Automatic Handgun, Cocaine Seized During Arrest In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville police seized a handgun and cocaine Monday when they arrested a Chicago man in connection with an investigation into crack-cocaine sales in the area.

Deonte Bell, 23, was charged with armed violence and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

Bell was taken into custody by a special operations unit after police say he sold crack-cocaine in Naperville on at least two occasions. When Bell was arrested, police reported that he had a semi-automatic handgun and more than a gram, but fewer than 15 grams of cocaine in his possession.

Bell is being held at DuPage County Jail.
