On September 27: Industrial and Systems Engineering Meet & Greet at NIU Naperville
Topics will include careers pursued by industrial and systems engineers, as well as internship and employment opportunities in the region

Northern Illinois University will host an Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISYE) Meet & Greet on Saturday, Sept. 27 at its Naperville campus, 1120 E. Diehl Road.
To be held in Room 251F from 10 a.m. to noon, the event is designed for students, parents, and community members interested in learning more about the growing field of industrial and systems engineering, as well as the opportunities available through NIU’s College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (CEET).
Industrial and systems engineers work across a wide range of industries, from healthcare and manufacturing to logistics and technology, helping organizations operate more efficiently and effectively. NIU’s highly rated ISYE program emphasizes problem-solving, data-driven decision making and systems design, preparing graduates for roles in areas such as supply chain management, quality assurance, process improvement and operations.

During the meet and greet, attendees will hear from ISYE Department Chair Purush Damodaran and may also meet other faculty members and alumni. Topics will include the types of careers pursued by industrial and systems engineers, internship and employment opportunities in the region and NIU’s curriculum and experiential learning opportunities. Scholarships, student design teams and the application process will also be discussed.
“This is a casual opportunity for anyone curious about industrial engineering, NIU or CEET to stop by, ask questions, and connect with faculty,” Damodaran said.
