Some Home Run Sausage Pizzas May Contain Metal, Recalled By USDA
Some of the Woodridge-based pizza chain's frozen premium pizzas made in June were found to have extraneous materials which raised concerns.

WOODRIDGE, IL — More than 14,000 pounds of frozen meat pizza from Woodridge-based Home Run pizza have been recalled after the USDA determined that the brand’s premium sausage pizzas may have been contaminated with extraneous materials, namely metal, officials announced on Sunday.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that the frozen meat pizzas were produced on June 6 and that Home Run’s 33.5-ounce premium sausage pizzas with a sell-by date of Dec. 3 may be affected.
Federal officials said the problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS that it had received consumer complaints reporting metal was found in the pizza.
