Strong-Arm Robbers Target Naperville Jewelry Merchants
One of the merchants got into a struggle with one of the robbers Saturday night outside the Marriott Hotel.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A jewelry merchant struggled with an assailant as three masked men forcibly took several cases of jewelry Saturday night outside the Marriott Hotel on Naper Boulevard, police said.
The merchants were leaving the hotel after a private showing when they were approached by the three assailants in the parking lot just before 11 p.m., according to Naperville police.
Police said the masked men forcibly took cases of merchandise, and one of the merchants got into a brief struggle with an assailant before the three robbers got into a van occupied by two other men and fled. Police said there was no information on which direction the van went.

The merchant was not hurt in the struggle, according to police.
The robbers were wearing masks, dark clothing and gloves, police said. The two other men in the van were described as wearing dark clothing.
