Synthetic Turf Baseball Field To Open At DuPage River Sports Complex

The ballfield's grand opening will feature festivities that include a visit from Southpaw, the Chicago White Sox mascot.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville Park District and Naperville Little League are set to debut a new synthetic baseball field at DuPage River Sports Complex. The grand opening festivities will feature a visit from Southpaw, the mascot for the Chicago White Sox.

The opening is set for May 11 at 9 a.m.

"The Naperville Park District is fortunate to have great community partners like Naperville Little League," Brad Wilson, Executive Director of the Naperville Park District, said in a statement.

Wilson said, "It's relationships like these that help us provide wonderful recreational opportunities for our community. We thank Naperville Little League for their contributions toward this beautiful field that provides an exceptional place for recreation, learning and fun."

The baseball field is one of many that will are being revamped with synthetic turf via a partnership between the Chicago White Sox, Naperville Park District and Naperville Little League.
