Teen Riding E-Scooter Hit By Car In Naperville: Police
Police say the 14-year-old boy was in the crosswalk when he was hit by a driver near Aurora Avenue and West Street.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A 14-year-old boy was injured when a car hit him as he rode his e-scooter through a crosswalk in Naperville Sunday afternoon.
The crash took place around 2:41 p.m. near the intersection of Aurora Avenue and West Street, Commander Ricky Krakow told Patch.
Krakow said the driver of the car, an 85-year-old woman, was turning south on West Street from Aurora Avenue when she hit the e-scooter. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital and released later that day.

The driver was cited for failing to yield right-of-way, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, expired registration and driving with an expired license. Krakow said the woman's driver's license had been expired for more than a year.
