Veterans: Celebrate Your Day With Discounts and Freebies

As the nation honors its service men and women on Veterans Day, 11-11-11, it seems only fitting that veterans be honored in tangible ways, whether that means through ceremonies or with freebies and discounts.

A number of businesses will be offering special discounts and other benefits for veterans who can present some form of military identification.

Here is a list of some national chains with Naperville locations that will be offering specials for veterans. Make sure to verify that the location is participating and will honor the discount. If you know of other offers, add them in the comment section of this story.

: Veterans eat free between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Select menu items are offered. There are also discounts on chips and salsa and a brownie sundae.

: The restaurant is offering a free Bloomin’ Onion Nov. 7-11.

: A free entrée for veterans chosen from a select menu. Other items are extra.

: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. veterans get a free entrée with two sides from a special menu, along with a Coca Cola product, iced tea/sweet tea or coffee.

: A free six-inch sub or flatbread to veterans on Nov. 11.

: A free small Slurpee from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

: 10 percent off with a military ID.

: The menswear store is offering specials on suits, along with discounts on other items including ties and sportswear.

– Veterans Day National cut-a-thon and Help A Hero program. $1 will be donated from a haircut to the National Cut-A-Thon.
