NAPERVILLE — Fall doesn’t officially start until the autumnal equinox on Sunday, Sept. 22, but the season is already underway at apple orchards near Naperville.
There are plenty of activities at these fall attractions to appeal to all ages, especially kids.

Season dates: Started August 2024
Details: From Sept. 7 through Oct. 27, Keller's Farmstand also features a corn maze, a play house, antique tractors, farm animals and more, with admission at $12; different varieties of apples are available for purchase throughout the summer and fall
Hours: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Details: At Windy Acres Farms, visitors can also take a wagon ride through the orchard, snap autumn-themed photos and buy caramel apples, apple cider donuts and other treats at the farmstand.

Season dates: Begins in mid-August
Details: Bronkberry Farms offers pre-picked and U-Pick Honeycrisp, Ruby Mac, Zestar and Gala apples. They also offer caramel apples, straw bales and other fall favorites for purchase.
Cost: $40 per peck; $20 for half-peck; $10 for quarter-peck
Hours: Tuesday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Mondays
The U.S. Apple Association estimates this season’s crop at 259,517,252 bushels, a 10 percent decrease from last year’s record harvest. Growers across the country report an excellent crop, Chris Gerlach, the trade group’s vice president of insights and analytics, said in a news release.
