Wind Worsened Fire That Badly Damaged Home In Naperville
A fire broke out in a home in the 1800 block of Syracuse Avenue Friday afternoon.

NAPERVILLE, IL — High winds made it more challenging for firefighters to control a blaze that broke out in a Naperville home Friday afternoon.
Fire crews received a call around 2:40 p.m. reporting a "large volume of fire and smoke" that was visible at a home in the 1800 block of Syracuse Avenue, according to a news release.
Firefighters got to the scene around 2:47 pm., but needed to call in additional resources around 3:20 p.m. to help control the fire amid the high winds. Just after 4 p.m., firefighters had contained the blaze, the news release said.

No one was hurt in the fire, which left the home uninhabitable. Officials say the fire's cause is still being investigated.
