Woman Killed by Metra Train Late Saturday
The woman was killed by an approaching train at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday night.

A woman sitting on the train tracks near the station was struck and killed by a commuter train late Saturday night, according to the .
The police were notified of the accident at about 11:40 p.m. The incident occurred about 500 feet from the Loomis Street pedestrian crossing, police said in a news release issued at 2:56 a.m. Sunday.
When police arrived at the accident scene, they were told that a woman had been sitting on the tracks as the eastbound train was approaching. Metra commuter traffic was delayed for a short period during the investigation.
