2 Found Fatally Shot In New Lenox Home ID'd: Coroner

UNINCORPORATED NEW LENOX, IL — A man and woman found fatally shot inside a home in unincorporated New Lenox Sunday night have been identified.

Jeanette Cunliffe, 57, and Clayton Cunliffe, 58, both of New Lenox, were pronounced dead early Monday after being found in their home in the 23000 block of Spencer Road Sunday night. Their identities had previously been withheld pending completion of the autopsies.

Police were called to the 23000 block of Spencer Road Sunday at 9:30 p.m. for a suspicious death complaint. A woman called 911 to report finding her parents fatally shot inside the home.

The woman had last spoken to them several days prior and had gone there to check on them, when she discovered them dead in a second floor bedroom, according to police.

Detectives and crime scene investigators were called to investigate. Evidence recovered at the scene indicates that the incident was isolated and there was no danger to the public, police said.
